Abstract

As part of a series of tributes marking the eightieth anniversary of Gabriela Mistral's Nobel Prize, this edition of her Selected Poems is organized and presented with a prologue by Alicia Salomone and included in the collection "Letters South of the Rio Grande," directed by María Fernanda Pampín at Corregidor Publishing. This anthology presents an insight into the author's work and a diachronic overview of her work from a contemporary perspective, integrating recent contributions from Mistralian critics. Alicia Salomone's selection highlights the poems dedicated to Victoria Ocampo and Alfonsina Storni, which demonstrate the close ties that unite the Chilean author with Argentine culture.
